History

This factory Vantage was ordered by main agents Chapman Spooner on 15th July 1984 to be finished in Suffolk Red coachwork with Magnolia hides piped Burgundy with manual transmission, before it was finally completed and signed off by the Works on 20th September of the same year

One of just 52 ‘BBS Vantage’ models, the car was first registered on 1st January 1985 to its original owner Mr S.J.Flood of Cornwall, UK. The second owner is confirmed by a sales invoice retained on file from a specialist dealer ‘Bodycraft’ on 14th September 1988 where it was sold to Mr M.Clarke of Buckinghamshire with mileage noted at 11,600 miles

The Vantage would remain within Mr Clarke’s ownership for a further twenty-six years before it was sold to the previous Swiss based collector owner via Hexagon Classics in May 2014. Throughout Mr Clarke’s long term ownership, he accrued just 2800 miles, which is confirmed by an almost complete run of MoT certificates that are shown within the history file, with maintenance records from Chapman Spooner and marque specialist restorers Spray Tec restorations

Before the Vantage was exported to Switzerland the bodywork was stripped to bare metal and the car refinished in the highly attractive of Rolls Royce Royal Blue metallic coachwork and also benefitted from a mechanical recommission and the fitment of a stiffer anti roll bar to improve handling and ride quality

Enjoyed on high days and holidays during its time in Switzerland by its enthusiastic former keeper, who was a regular attendee of AMOC events, and who used the car on a number of occasions for touring events in Europe, maintained throughout his ownership by Aston Martin Heritage agents Roos Engineering and the owner’s personal mechanic

Repatriated to the United Kingdom in December 2021 by Dylan Miles Ltd and subsequently inspected by marque exponents R.S.Williams who confirmed the chassis to be in fine order, following removal of sill covers. All relevant UK taxes were paid at the time of import and the car was re-assigned with its cherished registration ‘ASV 177’ which remains with the car

Offered today with just 18,700 miles from new, this remarkably low mileage example presents very well and performs beautifully, as one would expect a car of this mileage to, with a tight and powerful engine, taut and precise handling. Interested parties should note the Vantage will be supplied to the next fortunate owner freshly serviced by RS Williams with a comprehensive historical file
